July 2001 - Oxenhope Village Fete. In dramatic contrast to the rain of Hebden Bridge, our previous gig, we had idyllic Yorkshire summer weather and location. Fields, a stream, trees, grasses, hills and a village community meant that this was a fun and relaxed event. Our dancing linked in with the local school's Egyptian themed musical (about Tutankhamen!) which they performed in-between our folk and cabaret sessions. Particular thanks go to the gentleman who came to our rescue with the loan of his walking stick for the performance of the stick dance as we were one stick short on the day! Audience comments ... "Very good indeed" Photographs by Ingram Blakelock. |
